Prevent those persistent squirrels that can jump several feet to reach a feeder by making sure you place the feeder away from all launching positions that include trees, houses, telephone wires, laundry lines, and cable wires.
If you hang your feeder from a branch of a tree locate make sure it is at least 12 feet from the tree trunk and more than four feet above the ground. This should prevent squirrels from reaching the feeder by jumping up from the ground or from a tree. The Bird Feeders Squirrel Proof solution will keep those pesky squirrels out of your bird feeders.

Squirrels although cute (in my opinion) can be a real pain so these Squirrel proof feeders area great idea. After all there is no point feeding squirrels and endless supply of nuts at the birds expense. They are more than capable of surviving in very extreme conditions.
Duncraft is designed to accommodate birds of all sizes. I really like it.
These are designed to defeat the most determined squirrels and simple, effective mechanism uses gravity to protect bird food.

I watched the video above. It is effective….but am just wondering, does the bird feeder supposedly inside a bird cage so that the squirrel don’t have an access to it? I am fascinated by it and laughed every time the squirrel swept away LOL
That’s a great tip. My only problem is that I don’t yet have any branches that extend out 12 feet. Maybe I could try something else like a lawn stake type pole?
I loved this good looking Yankee Flipper Squirrel Proof Feeder
